Northern Tanzania

Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti sit within a day of each other by road, so a first trip can take in three or four of them without spending the week driving. We plan the route around your dates and the season, not around a fixed departure.

Where we travel
Our top destinations
The circuit is what decides which parks can be combined into one trip. Start here if you know you want Tanzania but not yet which part of it.
Northern Circuit
Reached from Arusha. These parks sit within a day of each other by road, which is why most first trips to Tanzania combine three or four of them.
Southern Circuit
Reached from Dar es Salaam. Larger, quieter parks that take longer to get to and reward a longer stay.
Zanzibar and the Coast
A short flight from the parks. Where most safaris finish.
Southern Tanzania
Bigger parks, far fewer vehicles
Nyerere and Mikumi are a different trip from a different airport. They are reached from Dar es Salaam, or directly from Zanzibar by ferry or light aircraft, and they offer two things the north does not: boat safaris on the Rufiji, and walking safaris with an armed ranger.

Finish on the water
A short flight separates the parks from the reef, which is why most safaris end in Zanzibar. Stone Town, the spice farms, Jozani forest, the sandbanks and the dhows are all single days out from wherever you are staying, and we arrange them around your flights.
