Mnemba atoll, off the north-east corner of Unguja, holds the most accessible good reef on the island. This is a private boat, so the timing is yours.

The morning is spent cruising for dolphins and then snorkelling over the coral around the conservation area. Dolphins are wild animals and are seen often rather than always; on a low tide the boat runs to a sandbank instead.

Tropical fruit and drinks are served on board. You are back at your hotel in time for the afternoon.
