Jozani is the island's only national park and the last home of the Zanzibar red colobus. Fewer than a few thousand remain, and they are easily seen here.

The forest walk covers the monkeys, the trees and the mangrove boardwalk, where thousands of black crabs work in the mud below.

Afterwards you visit the butterfly centre nearby, a community project that breeds butterflies for release, along with the chameleons and the tortoises kept there. Lunch is at the restaurant by the park.
