5-Day Nyerere and Mikumi Safari

After breakfast, drive to Mikumi National park, Lunch served in en route to Morogoro region. Mikumi is huddled between Uluguru Mountain to the northeast, Udzungwa Mountains and the Rift Valley escarpment to the south west part of Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area. On arrival to the park enjoy evening game drives in Mikumi ‘till sunset.

Early in the morning after breakfast you will starting the full game drive in the Mikumi forest. There in Mikumi National park it is very easy to spot many animals for short time if no any obstacles you can see animals like Wild dog, wildebeest, buffalos, Giraffe, elephants, Hartebeest, lions, zebra, warthogs and so animals. In the middle of the tour you will transfer back to the park Restaurant for the Lunch, coffee, tea and other, after that you will have a few minutes for resting and then proceed with game drive. The open Horizons ad abundant wildlife of the Mkata floodplain the popular centerpiece of Mikumi National park.

After finishing the game drive around 0330pm you will Transfer to Masai village to starting the evening Maasai culture there you will see and teach Maasai tribe that is popular traditional tribe in Tanzania and sometime in Kenya side if you like to visit. After that depart at the outside park lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Breakfast is served at the Camp. Check out and drive to Nyerere National Park and upon arrival check in the camp and then proceed with the afternoon boat Safari in the Rufiji River. Boat Safari in the afternoon is another way of game viewing on the Rufiji River; it offers a unique experience as the Nyerere is the only park in Tanzania and East Africa where this option is available. Rufiji River is one of the most dramatic rivers in Tanzania’s National Parks which is navigable all year round. The chance to get out of the vehicle and view game from a boat is one of the things that make Nyerere National Park such a great place to visit.

After breakfast, another full day of game drives in the park. Nyerere National Park is the largest game park in Africa – 4 times the size of the Serengeti. It possesses a diverse landscape from hot volcanic springs, sporadic lakes, channels from the Great Ruaha and Rufiji rivers.

Nyerere National Park is Africa’s greatest park that covers a wide variety of wildlife habitats including Lakes, open grassland, Acacia, Miombo woodland and riverine forests. The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plains and rocky outcrops cut by the Rufiji River and its tributaries. The Kilombero and Luwegu which together cover the greatest catchment area in East Africa, which flows from north to south provides the life-blood of Nyerere National Park. Sailing or Rafting down the Rufiji River is a superb way of seeing game in the park.

Wake up very early morning, after a cup of tea/coffee transfer to Mtemere gate for Walking inside the park with the escort of an armed ranger, the journey takes about 2 to 3hours, on arrival to your pick up point you will be transferred back to the Lodge for Breakfast. There after proceed with short game drives till Lunch which will be served at the lodge. After lunch, check out of the Camp and drive back To Dar es Salaam.
