The Mikumi day trip safari begins early in the morning as you depart from Zanzibar Airport on a short, scenic flight to Mikumi National Park. From there, your full-day safari adventure begins in a 4x4 open-roof safari vehicle and heads into the park, where open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and seasonal wetlands offer the perfect setting for wildlife viewing. Mikumi is sometimes referred to as a "mini-Serengeti" due to its similar ecosystems and impressive animal population. With luck and your guide’s sharp eyes, you might encounter lions lounging in the grass, elephants crossing the plains, giraffes nibbling on treetops, herds of zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, hippos basking in the water, and many species of colourful birds. You’ll enjoy a packed lunch at a picnic site within the park. As the day draws to a close, you’ll return to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the early evening. From the beach to the bush and back again, all in one day
