Your weekend getaway kicks off with an early morning pickup from your hotel or residence in Dar es Salaam. Boarding your comfortable safari cruiser, you will escape the city via the smooth, direct highway link heading west. The drive offers an authentic look into the local coastal plains, bustling towns, and rural landscapes. Arrive at Mikumi in time for check-in and an energizing lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, head directly into Mikumi National Park for your opening game drive. The savanna plains open up beautifully to reveal giant baobab trees and sprawling ecosystems. Keep your binoculars ready as you cross the floodplain tracks; this is your first chance to view the park's famous tree-climbing lions resting above the scrub, as well as massive, striking herds of elands moving side-by-side with zebras, wildebeests, and impalas.
