Nyerere National Park is the largest national park in Tanzania and one of the largest reserved parks in Africa. Previously known as the Selous Game Reserve, Nyerere National Park provides shelter for a large number of elephants, lions, and big populations of buffaloes, wild dogs, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses Rufiji River also has a lot of bird life. The reserve is named after the one of famous British. But nowadays Selous Game Reserves is called Nyerere National Park.
Dar to Selous, you will be picked up by a My Trip Adventure;s guide at your hotel, airport, or ferry for a safari briefing and then drive south to Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere National Park) which is approximately five and half hour's drive from Dar es Salaam. On arrival, you will get lunch and start with afternoon boat safaris in the Rufiji River. On a boating safari, you will be able to see aquatic animals such as hippos, crocodiles, a vast number of birds, and animals like elephants, giraffes, and many others drinking on the Rufiji River. You will end your day by watching a stunning sunset as you enjoy the beautiful sands of the river-flooding plains. Your overnight stay will be at Selous Mloka Safaris Lodge on a full-board basis.
After breakfast, you'll go for full-day game drives with packed lunch boxes in Selous game reserve. During lunchtime, you enjoy a picnic lunch at the picnic site the guide will select for you. After your picnic lunch and some relaxation, you will continue with the game drive until the evening.

Feel the unique thrill of standing out in the open savanna as the morning sun casts long shadows over the plains. Return to the lodge for a full, warm breakfast and pack your bags. Check out and embark on a final brief tracking loop as you exit the park gates, commencing your journey back to your drop-off hub, arriving late in the afternoon.
