Stone Town first, on foot: the Old Fort, the House of Wonders, the Sultan's palace, Darajani market and the lanes between them, with a guide who can tell you what you are looking at.
Then the boat to Nakupenda, a sandbank about twenty minutes out that surfaces at low tide with nothing on it but white sand.
Lunch is seafood grilled there, with tropical fruit, and there is time to swim, snorkel and sit before the boat runs back in the afternoon.
