3-Day Selous (Nyerere NP)Boat, Game Drive & Walking Safari

You will be picked by a guide from Kihindo Tours and Safaris at your hotel, airport or ferry in Dar for the safari briefing. Then you'll drive south to Selous Game Reserve (Nyerere Np) which is approximately 4 hours drive from Dar es Salaam. On arrival, you will get lunch and start with an afternoon boat safari in the Rufiji River. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at Selous Mloka Safaris Lodge on a full board basis.

After breakfast, you enter Nyerere National Park for a full day game drive with packed lunch boxes. Your route follows open plains, woodlands and river edges where you watch elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes and predators that hunt in the area. Your guide explains animal movement, tracks and feeding habits as you move through different habitats.

You stop at a selected picnic point for lunch. You eat in a quiet area with views of the bush. After lunch and a short rest, you continue the game drive. You cover new areas in the afternoon to increase your chances of seeing lions, buffalo groups, hippos near water channels and bird life around the lakes.

You drive back to Mloka Lodge in the early evening. Dinner awaits you on arrival. You spend the night in your room inside the lodge compound.

You start the morning with a guided walking safari. A ranger leads you through safe routes for about two and a half hours. You observe animal tracks, plants, insects and early morning wildlife activity. You walk at a steady pace to allow close observation of the environment.

You return to the lodge after the walk. You shower, then eat breakfast. After breakfast, you begin the road trip to Dar es Salaam with packed lunch boxes. The drive passes villages, woodlands and open areas along the main route.

You stop for lunch on the way. You continue the drive to the city. On arrival in Dar es Salaam, you get a drop off at the airport for your flight or at your hotel or the ferry terminal for Zanzibar or Mafia Island.
